A sample character follows. Below that are descriptions of the elements that support the character.

Prince Lorany of Essonay

Young prince of a small towerland kingdom. He's trying to impress his father, who is old and will choose a successor soon.

Physical: 6

  • Jade sharpness (Greenshard) [aid] -- The sword is fantastically sharp.
  • Silver Guard (Kingdom of Essonay) [support] -- Lorany can, with a message, summon a contingent of about 20 soldiers. With more time, he can get an army.
  • Royal training [knowledge] -- As a prince, Lorany was trained in all sorts of combat techniques.

  • Fated to rule (Fate) [support] -- Lorany's destiny is backed by spiritual power: the universe wants him to rule Essonay.
  • Pure heart and soul (Temple of Air) [aid] -- His training has purified him.
  • Friend of the Temple (Temple of Air) [support] -- Lorany knows many faithful worshipers, priests, and religious scholars.

Connections

The Kingdom of Essonay [faction]: As a member of the royal family, Lorany has strong ties to the Kingdom, and many responsibilities.

King Essonay [family]: Lorany and his aging father (the King) do not get along. His father believes his time at the Temple was a waste. Also, his father favors his full-human sons over the half-elven children.

Temple of the Sky [tradition]: Lorany joined the Temple when he was a young man, against his father's wishes. He serves the Temple and follows its tenets.

Greenshard, a magical jade sword [fetish]: The sword called to him from the forest. He pulled it from the trunk of a tree and understood its power immediately. Lorany believes it is part of his destiny.

Fate: I will become King of Essonay [destiny]: Lorany feels that he is the strongest of his siblings (in power and moral fortitude) and deserves the throne.

The Kingdom of Jrinai [faction]: This is a small elven kingdom on the border of Essonay. Lorany's mother -- the King's first wife -- was a beautiful elven queen. Lorany has embraced his elven roots.
