In Myers-Briggs Temperament terms, I can be described as an INTP. I'm introverted (I), intuiting (N) or abstract, thinking (T) or hyper-rational, and perceiving (P) or probing. In general, that all means that I tend to value reason over emotion, and I live in my head a lot, deconstructing the world around me and reconstructing it as a model in my head. I gather information as long as I can, then try to formulate perfect courses of action.

You can read more about the INTP personality type on the web. My favorite description is what the Personality Page calls a [Thinker]. Keirsey calls me an [Architect]. The Socionics site calls me an [Observer]. Brainbench says I'm a social person. No surprise, the Enneagram Test says I'm a 5w6.

In general, I'm very patient, kind but hard-to-know, and I have a strong ability to take apart a system in my head and fix it. I'm also a terrible procrastinator, and I get side-tracked from completing things unless I have some external deadline or someone else working with me. I can be cold and overlook the human element when dealing with people, concentrating only on the "facts" and "truths" without realizing the emotions driving a problem.

I'd rather study it and design it than implement and build it. Once all the hard problems are solved, things cease to be as interesting to me. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the building sometimes, because that work can often present new challenges that keep my attention. I despise mindless, repetitive tasks.

I rarely get angry. When I do, it's usually justified. When it isn't justified, I get totally irrational and can be a total monster. I'm glad it almost never happens. Most of the time, I'm a quiet, easy-going, sarcastic and wry-humored gentleman.

If you're interested, you can read a bit about where I came from.
