Alana

Known by some as "the black widow," this noblewoman is famous in certain circles for the strange disappearance of her rich husband and for the cloak of arachnidia she likes to wear. She volunteered for armed service against the dwarven slavers and honed her skills as a warrior and combat mage on the front lines. Her dabbling with a magical portal hidden in the basement of her in-law's mansion opened a hole into the swamp while Threllyen and friends were passing by, and thus they became associates.

Stats: 22 year-old female human wizard 2/fighter 9. Neutral good. Str 10, Dex 10, Con 16, Int 18, Wis 13, Cha 11. Notable skills: Alchemy 8, Concentration 13, Knowledge (arcana) 14, Knowledge (the planes) 12, Spellcraft 16. Feats: Brew Potion, Expert Tactician, Improved Initiative, Expertise, Run, Craft Wondrous Item, Scribe Scroll, Extend Spell, Craft Magical Arms and Armor. Weapons of choice: rapier and crossbow.

Activity level: Regular attendance since mid-2001 (original character), medium participation. Prefers role-playing and dislikes hack and slash (liking h&s more now that her spells are stronger).

Andricon

This wizard has come into his own power. He has an unhealthy interest in demonology and a penchant for showy fire spells. His intelligence is among the highest in Anir, but he still makes many unwise decisions. He occasionally returns to the College of the Magickal Artes where he was taught the basics of spellcasting. Andricon often dreams of building an amazing wizard's tower with magical defenses.

Brennen

Brennen is a frustrated combat monk who often wonders if he'd have been better off staying in the library. Still, he seems drawn to a life of adventure and exploration and relishes the few moments he gets to experience something unique. That is, something unique that doesn't mean getting his ass kicked; he's experienced that enough.

Stats: 25 year-old male human monk 10. Lawful neutral. Str 14, Dex 16, Con 13, Int 12, Wis 17, Cha 9. Feats: Deflect Arrows, Improved Trip, Two-Weapon Fighting, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Improved Evasion, Ki Strike, Weapon Focus (unarmed). Notable skills: Balance 13, Climb 13, Hide 13, Jump 13, Listen 13, Move Silently 13, Tumble 11. Preferred weapons: hands and feet, shuriken, light crossbow.

Activity level: Regular attendance since early 2002 (second character), high participation. Loves a mix of role-playing, problem solving, and hack and slash.

Dareth

Dareth was a typical self-serving rogue type, stealing whatever looks valuable when he could get away with it. He joined the group a while ago (they needed someone who could take care of traps and locks). He's begun training as a shadowdancer, learning from an old man in the city of Corlix.

Stats: 24 year-old male half-elven rogue 7/shadowdancer 1. Neutral. Str 14, Dex 19, Con 14, Int 17, Wis 15, Cha 16. Feats: Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Mobility, Evasion.

Activity level: Irregular attendance (especially lately), high participation when there. Part of the group as a player since early 2001 (third character). Likes a mix of role-playing, problem solving, and role-playing.

Ensaris

Once a priest of the Holy Flame, Ensaris has found a higher calling in the service of the lost god Corunthir. The young cleric found his beliefs out of synch with that of his superiors and had visions that lead him and his friends to a lost temple in the woods. Once liberating the temple from undead and thieves, he recognized the place as once belonging to an old god. Over time, he learned more about Corunthir and dedicated his life to increasing the god's power and following. He is seeking the reliclike symbols of Corunthir and has already found the sun mace, the armor, and the shield.

Feats: Combat Casting, Exta Turning, Brew Potion, Leadership, Weapon Focus (heavy mace), Stout Hearted, Pure Hearted. Domains: Sun, War. Notable skills: Concentration 13, Diplomacy 10, Knowledge (arcana) 4, Knowledge (religion) 10, Wilderness Lore 4. Preferred weapons: heavy sun mace +2, light crossbow.

Activity level: Regular attendance since mid 2000 (original character), high participation. Likes a mix of role-playing, problem solving, and combat (with a lean towards hack and slash).

Larissa

Larissa is a conservative priestess of the Holy Flame whose loyalties have yet to be changed to the worship of Corunthir. Mostly bookish and quiet in the past, she has had difficulty feeling comfortable strapping on armor, wielding a mace, and marching through swamps and forests. She does not know her own ability in combat, and prefers to stay near the back to liberally apply healing spells to the frontline fighters.

Feats: Alertness, Endurance, Tracking, Improved Initiative, Brew Potion, Scribe Scroll, Craft Rod. Notable skills: Heal 8, Knowledge (arcana) 10, Knowledge (religion) 10. Preferred weapons: morning star +1.

Activity level: Fairly regular attendance since mid-2001 until recently, low participation. Prefers role-playing and problem solving.

Lazarus

Lazarus the Lasher is an expert in the use of lassos and rope. Do not mistake this rogue for a Boy Scout with his knot-tying badge, oh no! He's a trouble-maker through and through, and some say he has a recklessness that will get him or his friends in trouble some day, or even killed! He recently retired from a life of high adventure to serve Juthus the Bright at his home. There Lazarus has befriended a magical, intelligent tea cart who likes to give him white-knuckle rides around the mansion. Perhaps he had too many brushes with death and needed a break. After being resurrected by Ensaris, he had a bit of a spiritual revolution and began worshipping Corunthir.

Stats: 19 year-old male human rogue 7/lasher 1. Neutral. Str 14, Dex 18, Con 12, Int 16, Wis 12, Cha 12. Feats: Alertness, Improved Initiative, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (whip), Weapon Focus (whip). Notable skills: Appriase 11, Bluf 11, Disable Device 11, Hide 14, Move Silently 14, Pick Pocket 15, Read Lips 9, Spot 13, Use Rope 7, Diplomacy 13, Sense Motive 9, Forgery 6, Listen 10. Preferred weapons: magical whip dagger (rope of climbing).

Activity level: Regular player between mid-2001 and early 2003 (moved to Georgia), medium-high participation. Prefers role-playing and problem solving, but doesn't mind a good fight now and then.

Tessalyn

Many men have fallen for this beautiful woman, but most of them were afraid to approach her. Tessalyn is tough, dangerous, and moody. She grew up with many brothers and was always a tomboy, learning to fight with a sword before she knew how to read. She always knew something was missing, though, and it wasn't until she read some strange writing in a ruins that she found her calling. Sorcery and dragons. Her blood ran thick with the power of dragons, and she felt it. Eventually she began worshipping the old god Corunthir, perhaps more out of loyalty to her friends than a deeper spirituality. Or perhaps because the strict regulations of the Holy Flame rubbed her the wrong way.

Stats: 22 year-old female human fighter 1/sorcerer 9/dragon disciple 1. Neutral good. Str 16, Dex 16, Con 15, Int 14, Wis 11, Cha 18. Feats: Blind Fight, Dodge, Mobility, Quick Draw, Combat Casting, Point-blank Shot, Extra Spell, Extra Spell. Notable skills: Diplomacy 7, Knowledge (arcana) 10, Knowledge (pigment) 4, Move Silently 5, Search 9, Tumble 9. Preferred weapons: longsword, mighty composite longbow, magic missiles.

Activity level: Regular attendance since mid-2000 (original character), high participation. Likes role-playing and problem solving, but needs a good hack and slash component.

Threllyen

This gruff warrior has a reputation for ruthlessness and cruelty. His hallmark purple plate armor was taken off a slain blackguard, and Threllyen has no problem with people thinking he is that evil. He's an expert combatant, using every advantage to maximum benefit and minimizing every disadvantage. His skill with a bastard sword is legendary in the hinterlands. He is motivated almost entirely by wealth and power. If Threllyen did not exhibit occasional glimpses of caring about things other than himself, it is not clear that the rest of the group would keep him around -- despite how useful he is in a fight. The future is unclear, though, as his morals further slip from those of the party.

Valan

It's not easy being an elf in a land where elves are hated and hunted. Sure, things are easier in the hinterlands and wilderness, but most people still freak when they see the telltale pointy ears and slanted facial features. That's why Valan wears a magical hat of disguise all the time. She has little memory of the elven forest; when she left, a strange amnesia washed over her. She has wandered the forests and swamps as a ranger since then, and fell into a group of humans who seem nice enough and who end up in a lot of interesting adventures. But does she really trust these people and call them friends? Not really. She seems to prefer the company of her wolf companion, and she sleeps with her longbow.
